Hey, it’s Anum & Fatima here 👋
You’re reading the very first edition of our newsletter! Thank you for being here, it truly means a lot to us.
We’re sisters, software engineers, serial problem-solvers and builders at heart. Over the last 5 years, we’ve been learning, experimenting, failing, and (sometimes) shipping cool things.
Here’s a quick look at how it all unfolded:
2021: We started learning web development and applied it through internships.
Anum: Built an e-commerce platform for a book publishing company.
Fatima: Interned at Jazz (telecom), working with the QA team on their micro-finance app JazzCash.
2022: Our first jobs in tech.
Anum: Worked at a health tech company on a remote patient monitoring system integrated with BLE devices.
Fatima: Joined an ed-tech company to build STEM learning platforms and educational games.
2023: Our first startup attempt: an AI art mobile app.
We launched it on Google Play, people loved our app but soon realized that building is only half the battle, distribution and business decisions matter even more. With no proper sales (and AWS bills piling up), we had to shut it down.
2024: Lessons turned into action.
We shifted gears, focusing on software services to learn how real products get built and launched.
Anum: Went full-time into client work.
Fatima: Switched to a software services company (worked on HR tech, EV charging optimization, insure-tech, etc.) while collaborating with Anum during 5-9.
2025: Round two of product building (but smarter this time).
Apart from working on client projects, we’re giving product-building another shot. But this time, we’re setting up distribution before code. We started our socials and this newsletter to share the raw, unfiltered journey.
Here are the 5 small products that we plan to build and start marketing before 2025 ends:
AI hook generator for content creators
Text-to-Path tool to wrap text around any object in an image
Flutter bootstrap package to speed up development with ready-made components
Web MVP bootstrap package to quickly build and launch web applications
Female health AI assistant (or some other idea not sure yet)
Every story we share here will come directly from our own experiences whether from client projects or our own builds. You’ll see:
What worked (and what didn’t), with actual numbers behind it
The strategies, experiments, wins, and fails we tried (plus results)
The messy behind-the-scenes of building in public - stats included
This could turn out to be the most awesome or the craziest thing we’ve ever done. Either way, you’ll get the unfiltered version.
Talk soon,
🥷 Anum & Fatima 👩🎨
P.S. We love meeting people online. Hit reply and tell us who you are and what you do whether it’s one sentence or your whole story. We read every reply.
